Washington Federal Drug Charge Attorney
If you have been charged with a federal crime, you want a lawyer who has successfully defended others in the federal courts. While the constitutional protections are the same, the laws and procedures can be quite different. You want a lawyer who has been there, one who has successfully fought for defendants in federal criminal proceedings.
At the Law Office of Mark D. Mestel, I have focused my practice exclusively on criminal defense since 1977. I take an aggressive stance for my clients. I will always prepare a case to go to trial and have built my reputation as a trial attorney, handling even the most difficult criminal cases. In more than three decades in practice, I have taken hundreds of criminal matters to trial, including many felony prosecutions.
I offer a free initial consultation to all criminal defendants. To set up an appointment with an experienced Everett federal criminal defense attorney, contact my office or call me at 425-374-1935 (toll free at 866-493-2417).
My Federal Criminal Defense Practice
I aggressively defend people charged with federal offenses, including:
- Drug crimes: I protect the rights of people who have been charged with smuggling or trafficking controlled substances, such as marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine. I will also fight for your rights if the government seeks the forfeiture of your property in connection with a drug prosecution.
- Financial crimes: I defend people charged with financial crimes, including fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, and money laundering.
- The use of firearms in a federal crime: In the federal system, an additional five years can be added to your sentence if a firearm was involved in the crime. I will work hard to minimize the consequences of an arrest, prosecution or conviction.
I advocate for people in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, which includes locations in Seattle and Tacoma. I am highly knowledgeable of the federal sentencing guidelines. Though my preference is always to take your claims to court, I will help you work out the best plea bargain under the sentencing guidelines.
